Who created the image of Kali Maa?
Swami Krishnanand Agamvagish who was born in 15 century created the image of Maa Kali with her tongue out posture and gave her the form of dakshina kali. He is the one who brought kali worship to the local and normal people in the form of dakshina kali. The story is that , one day Swami Krishnanand got a dream of Maa Kali in which she told him that he has to make an idol / sculpture of her and the inspiration for it would be the first person he sees after waking up the next day . And so on next day when he wakes up he sees a dark tribal woman in the village who was standing with her one leg on a rock , and when that woman realised that people are watching her , she got embarrassed and out of embarrassment her tongue came out of her mouth and that was the inspiration for the image of kali .
